SCIENCE & DISCOVERY CLASSES ON THURSDAYS & FRIDAYS
BRAND NEW! YOUNG HERPETOLOGIST SERIES: Join us for a 6-week science adventure just for young learners as we dive into the exciting world of reptiles and amphibians! In this Young Herpetologists series, children ages 5–8 will explore turtles, snakes, frogs, lizards, and more through playful, hands-on activities designed to spark curiosity and a love for the natural world. Each week features live animal encounters, interactive lessons, and engaging sensory experiences as we learn about these amazing creatures and the places they call home! Two sessions available:

MAMMALS, TAXONOMY & MORE (Begins September 4th): Dive into the fascinating realm of mammals and taxonomy in this 13-week science series that journeys through the diverse world of fur, hooves, claws, and teeth! In this class, you’ll explore the wide variety of mammals from the tiniest shrews to the mightiest elephants, while discovering how scientists classify and study these incredible animals. With engaging hands-on activities and interactive sessions you’ll gain insight into the unique traits, habitats, and survival strategies that define the mammalian kingdom. Register here.
JUNIOR ORNITHOLOGY (Begins September 4th): Take flight in this 13-week science series all about the fascinating world of birds! In this ornithology-focused class, students will explore the incredible diversity of avian life- from tiny hummingbirds to powerful birds of prey- while learning how scientists study and classify them. Through hands-on activities, outdoor observation, and interactive lessons, we’ll uncover the secrets of flight, migration, nesting, and more. Students will develop birdwatching skills, learn to use field guides, and gain a deeper understanding of the unique adaptations that help birds thrive in habitats around the world through hands-on science activities. FORAGING THROUGH THE YEAR: KIDS
Designed especially for kids, this four-season foraging series invites young explorers to discover the wild edibles growing all around us in central New Hampshire. Each session takes place in a different season, giving children the chance to see how the landscape changes throughout the year- and to safely sample some of the edible plants that thrive in each one! Along the way, they'll learn the basics of foraging, including safety, ethical harvesting practices, and how to care for the
land as respectful and responsible stewards.

Each session takes place during a different season, offering the opportunity to explore and taste the wild foods that grow all around us here in central New Hampshire. GROW YOUR OWN MUSHROOMS
LOG INOCULATION WORKSHOP
Join us for a hands-on workshop with Sarah Miliotis where you'll learn the art and science of cultivating mushrooms on logs! This comprehensive class will guide you through the entire process- from selecting the right logs to harvesting and storing your mushrooms. Whether you're a beginner or looking to expand your foraging and gardening skills, this workshop will provide you with the knowledge and confidence to grow your own gourmet mushrooms at home.
Participants will inoculate their own log during the workshop and take it home, along with printed instructions to help continue the process on their own. $60

This summer, we're inviting you to slow down, sip tea, and create with your hands. Our Teen & Adult Workshop series is a collection of joyful, hands-on workshops designed to spark creativity, connection, and a deepened relationship with the natural world. These gatherings are part art, part herbalism, part crafting- and all rooted in wonder.
Each workshop is a stand-alone experience, but taken together they offer a seasonal journey through plants, petals, pigments, and play. Whether you're pressing flowers, printing with plants, blending tea, or crafting your own apothecary, you'll walk away with new skills, beautiful handmade items, and a deeper appreciation for the wild world around you.
June 14th- Flower Pressing & Make-Your-Own Press Workshop
Teens & Adults | May 14th, 4:00–5:30 PM | $45 | Limited to 12 participants
Join us for a hands-on workshop celebrating the art of flower pressing! In this cozy and creative class, you'll learn simple yet effective techniques for preserving blooms, from garden favorites to foraged treasures. Each participant will make their own botanical-inspired flower press- beautifully decorated with real pressed plants- and then press a few freshly gathered flowers to take home and dry in their new press.
As we work, we’ll share tea and shortbread for a sweet, seasonal refreshment. Whether you're new to flower pressing or looking to deepen your connection to nature through art, this workshop offers a lovely way to slow down and savor spring.

JUNE 28TH- BUILD YOUR OWN ADVENTURE APOTHECARY

Join Laura from Rosewood Apotheca and Allyson from Tanglewood Hollow for a hands-on workshop where herbal wisdom meets everyday adventure. Together, we’ll guide you through creating your very own adventure apothecary- a nature-inspired toolkit filled with remedies for bug bites, bee stings, scrapes, and more.
You’ll make and take home a collection of practical, plant-based items, along with beautifully designed recipe cards so you can continue crafting your own remedies long after the workshop ends.
To keep our spirits refreshed, we’ll share herbal lemonade and rosemary shortbread while we create. Whether you're a seasoned forager or just beginning your journey into herbalism, this class is the perfect way to blend creativity, nature, and a bit of everyday magic.

JULY 12TH- BOTANICAL GEL PRINTING & TEA BLENDING WORKSHOP

Join Laura from Rosewood Apotheca and Allyson from Tanglewood Hollow for an evening of creativity, connection, and botanical inspiration. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll explore the art of botanical gel printing using gel plates- capturing the delicate textures and intricate details of plants found right in your backyard. No experience needed- just a love of plants and a willingness to play!
We’ll also dive into the intuitive art of tea blending. Learn how to combine herbs with intention and flavor in mind, brew your own blend to enjoy during class, and take home a sample crafted by you.

JULY 26TH- Beeswax Candle Pouring & Pressed Flower Jars
Teens & Adults | July 26th, 4:00–5:30 PM | $55 | Limited to 12 participants
Join us for a golden summer evening of candlelight and creativity. In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn the timeless art of pouring pure beeswax candles and decorating your candle jars with delicately pressed flowers- turning each one into a beautiful, nature-inspired work of art.
We’ll walk you through the process step-by-step, so whether you're new to candle making or have some experience, you'll feel right at home. While we work, we'll enjoy a glass of refreshing herbal lemonade and a light seasonal treat together.
You'll be able to pick up your finished beeswax candle in a custom-decorated jar the following week (unless it is cool enough for you to take home right away!)

AUGUST 9Th- Hapa zome (botanical printing) on silk scarves
Teens & Adults | August 9th, 4:00–5:30 PM | $60 | Limited to 12 participants
Come explore the joyfully messy and deeply beautiful art of hapa zome- a Japanese technique that uses fresh botanicals to create vivid prints on fabric through pounding and pressure. In this hands-on workshop, we’ll guide you through the process of designing and printing your own silk scarf using the colors and shapes of summer’s blooms and leaves.
Hapa zome (葉っぱ染め) means “leaf dye” in Japanese and was popularized by artist and natural dyer India Flint. The process involves placing leaves and flowers on fabric, then hammering them to transfer their natural pigments, resulting in rich, organic imprints that reflect the beauty of the natural world.
This is a playful and intuitive project, perfect for those who love plants, creativity, and getting their hands a little dirty. As we work, we’ll sip herbal lemonade and enjoy a few light seasonal refreshments.
You’ll head home with a one-of-a-kind silk scarf and the knowledge to continue experimenting with plant printing on your own.

AUGUST 23RD- WILDCRAFTED SOAP MAKING
Teens & Adults | August 23rd, 4:00–5:30 PM | $45 | Limited to 12 participants
Join us for a soothing, hands-on exploration of the art of wildcrafted soap making. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to incorporate seasonal botanicals into soap to nourish and care for your skin throughout the year. We’ll explore a variety of herbs and wild plants- many of which you might find in your own backyard- that can bring gentle healing, exfoliation, or aroma to your handmade bars.
Together, we’ll pour our own soaps using nourishing, natural ingredients. While we create, we’ll sip freshly brewed botanical teas and talk through the process, from selecting herbs to blending oils.
Your finished soaps will need time to cure, and will be ready for pick-up the following week at the shop- perfectly timed for the changing seasons.

SEPTEMBER 6TH- HERBAL DREAM PILLOWS & SLEEP REMEDIES WORKSHOP

Drift into the world of herbal rest and ritual in this cozy, hands-on workshop focused on crafting gentle remedies for better sleep. Together, we’ll create dreamy herbal pillows- choosing from calming fabrics and soothing botanical blends like lavender, chamomile, mugwort, and more.
You’ll stitch your own dream pillow, fill it with your personal blend of sleep-supportive herbs, and explore additional herbal remedies that can support more restful nights and sweeter dreams. From calming teas to simple bedtime rituals, this class will leave you with tools to ease wakefulness and bring intention to your nightly routine.

Throughout the week, campers will:

For ages 5-8. Calling all young nature lovers! Join us for Junior Herpetology Camp, a fun-filled week designed especially for our youngest explorers. Through hands-on activities, engaging stories, and creative crafts, we'll learn all about the fascinating world of reptiles and amphibians!
Throughout the week, campers will:
- Meet real reptiles up close in a safe and gentle environment
- Discover what makes reptiles and amphibians unique through interactive games
- Explore different habitats and learn where these creatures live
- Create fun reptile and amphibian-inspired crafts
- Try out simple hands-on activities like making frog calls and designing their own pretend turtle shells
