HOW IT WORKS
Our Naturalist Lab & Discovery Space is a blend of open-ended exploration and hands-on learning.While we’ll host regular classes and special events, you can also drop in during our Open Discovery Hours to explore at your own pace!
Grab an EXPLORERS PASS (a punch card good for ten visits to Tanglewood Hollow!)
- Each visit unlocks new provocations, themed stations, and natural wonders for curious minds of all ages.
- Climb into our adventure treehouse, observe real-life critters, examine specimens under a microscope, and dive into nature-based activities tailored for both young and older children.
- Meet fellow families, sip a warm drink at our complimentary coffee and tea bar, and connect in a space designed to spark curiosity and foster wonder.
- Browse Olivia the Explorer’s latest letters, decode clues, and help identify the specimens she’s sent from the field.
- Tinker with scientific tools, create in our makerspace area, or play pretend wildlife rescue with friends!
WHO IS THIS SPACE FOR?
Our Discovery Space is designed for children and their families, homeschoolers, unschoolers, afterschool adventurers, and curious naturalists of all ages.Activities are open-ended and adaptable for toddlers through tweens- and even grown-ups get inspired here!
DO I NEED TO REGISTER AHEAD OF TIME?
No registration is needed currently for Explorer’s Pass visits. Just drop in during our open hours! You can purchase an Explorer's Pass for ten visits ($50) or drop in for $10 a visit!
CAN I BRING YOUNGER/OLDER SIBLINGS?
Absolutely.We offer layered provocations so there’s something for everyone- tiny hands to budding biologists.
WHAT SHOULD WE BRING?
Curiosity!Everything else is provided.That said, feel free to bring your field journal, nature treasures to share and investigate, and a snack or two to enjoy at our tables.
DO GROWN-UPS STAY WITH THEIR KIDS?
Yes, this is a shared space for families to explore and connect together. Coffee and tea are on us while you dive into discovery.

WHAT ARE YOUR OPEN DISCOVERY HOURS?
Our Discovery Space is open for drop-in exploration on Mondays from 9–12 and Saturdays from 9–3. Families are welcome to stop by, explore the Naturalist Lab, and enjoy hands-on learning at their own pace. We look forward to expanding our hours soon so even more families can join in the wonder!
