I’m Allyson Mulcahy, the founder of Tanglewood Hollow and creator of Seasons of Wonder. As a naturalist, artist, and homeschooling mother, I believe the best education begins with curiosity, muddy hands, and noticing the wonders right outside our own front doors.
The idea for Tanglewood Hollow grew from a pivotal realization: if children are to care for the earth, they must first fall in love with it. Watching my own daughters grow, I realized we needed resources that invite families to slow down, explore together, and build lasting connections with nature.
Everything I create, from curriculum to hands-on activities, is designed to spark wonder, encourage discovery, and nurture a sense of stewardship for the natural world.
Today, Tanglewood Hollow is more than just a shop or a curriculum- it’s a community of families choosing to root their learning in wonder, creativity, and connection. I’m honored to share this journey with you and invite you to join me in raising the next generation of nature lovers and protectors.
I often return to the words of naturalist and author Rachel Carson, who said: “If a child is to keep alive his inborn sense of wonder, he needs the companionship of at least one adult who can share it.” My work is about helping parents and educators become that companion, guiding children to ask questions, follow their curiosity, and delight in what they find.
