The Owl Ranger Mission Guide invites your Backyard Nature Ranger Chapter to discover the fascinating world of owls through hands-on exploration, scientific discovery, and meaningful conservation.
Inside this guide, Rangers will learn about several North American owl species, uncover the remarkable adaptations that allow all owls to thrive as nighttime hunters, and explore the important role these birds play in healthy ecosystems.
More than just a nature study, this Field Mission encourages children to become active participants in caring for the natural world. Every mission follows the Backyard Nature Ranger philosophy:
Explore
Head outdoors to observe owls and their habitats, search for signs of wildlife, complete field investigations, and develop the careful observation skills of a naturalist.
Learn
Discover the science behind silent flight, exceptional hearing, powerful talons, and other incredible owl adaptations through engaging activities, nature journaling, and guided learning.
Protect
Turn knowledge into action by completing conservation challenges that help protect owls, their habitats, and the wildlife that shares their ecosystems.
Upon completing the mission, Rangers can earn the official Owl Ranger Merit Patch as they continue their Backyard Nature Ranger journey (available separately).

All orders are processed within 4 business days (excluding weekends and holidays) after receiving your order confirmation email. Orders are shipped from Concord, New Hampshire. You will receive an email notification when your order has shipped.

Time in transit is estimated from the day that the package is delivered to the carrier.
Domestic Shipping Rates
Shipping charges for your order will be calculated based on weight and will be displayed at checkout. Orders will be shipped via USPS First Class, USPS Priority Mail, or UPS Ground.
We do not provide estimated delivery timeframes for Armed Forces addresses. Please plan on at least several weeks for delivery.
International Shipping
