The Young Herbalists Guild: Monthly Herbal Club for Ages 10+
Join us for a hands-on, nature-infused journey through the world of herbs and folk remedies!
The Young Herbalists Guild is a monthly club designed for kids ages 10 and up who are curious about plants, passionate about nature, and eager to learn traditional herbal skills in a fun, community-centered setting.
Each month from January through May, we’ll meet to explore one or two herbal allies through stories, folklore, hands-on remedy making, tastings, and journaling. Participants will grow their confidence identifying and working with herbs while creating useful herbal goods to take home each session.
Meeting Schedule & Monthly Themes:
January 17th 2pm: White Pine & Cedar
Cleansing & Clarity
Begin the year surrounded by the bright scent of the winter forest. Learn how these evergreens help support clear breathing, calm the mind, and bring renewal in the darker months. We’ll make a white pine and cedar room spray and explore their folklore as protectors and purifiers as well as enjoy some tea made with white pine!
February 21st 2pm: Rosemary & Chamomile
Comfort & Care
When the days are short and cold, these gentle herbs bring warmth and calm. Learn how rosemary can awaken the senses while chamomile soothes the spirit. We’ll craft a chamomile bath soak and a rosemary-infused oil for gentle self-care and comfort.
March 14th 2pm: Nettle & Red Clover
Building Strength & Vitality
As the world begins to stir, we’ll meet two nourishing spring herbs that help rebuild strength and energy. Create a mineral-rich nettle infusion and a red clover tea blend to support growing bodies and renewed vitality.
April 11th 2pm: Dandelion & Chickweed
Spring Awakening
Celebrate the return of green! We’ll explore how early wild herbs help cleanse and energize the body after winter’s rest. Make a dandelion-honey elixir and a bright green chickweed vinegar to welcome spring’s first shoots.
May 9th 2pm: Violet & Plantain
Healing & Renewal
As meadows bloom, discover the gentle magic of violet and plantain... two soothing, skin-loving herbs that also uplift the heart. We’ll craft a violet-infused salve and a sweet violet syrup to honor the beauty of late spring.
