Sprout Studio: A Seasonal Art Class for Curious Young Artists
Sprout Studio is a playful, nature-inspired art class for ages 5–7, taught by Ms. Ashley. Each month’s projects are guided by what’s happening in the world just outside our door- whether it’s the twisting lines of bare winter branches, the soft colors of spring blooms, or the shifting shapes of autumn leaves. These real-world inspirations become the starting point for exploring the elements of art.
Over four weeks, children will dive into hands-on, exploratory projects that connect observation of nature with artistic expression. Through painting and mixed-media work, they’ll explore foundational concepts like line, shape, color, and texture- learning how these elements appear in the landscapes, plants, and seasonal changes around them.
In Sprout Studio, exploration comes first. Young artists are encouraged to experiment with materials, try new techniques, and follow their curiosity without worrying about perfection.
Ms. Ashley creates a warm, welcoming space where children feel free to imagine, make mistakes, and discover their own artistic voices. By the end of each session, they’ll have built confidence, developed an artist’s eye for the natural world, and experienced the joy of bringing their ideas to life.

WHAT AGE IS IT FOR?
This class is designed for young artists ages 5–7. It's tailored to the developmental needs and interests of this age group, with projects that balance guided instruction and free exploration.
DOES MY CHILD NEED ANY ART EXPERIENCE?
Not at all! Brush + Bramble is perfect for beginners as well as kids who already love art. The focus is on joyful, process-based exploration that meets each child where they are.
WHAT WILL MY CHILD BE DOING IN CLASS?
Each month features a new seasonal theme, like Lines in the Wild or Shadow and Shape. Kids will experiment with drawing, painting, and mixed-media projects to learn about line, shape, color, and texture. Classes include playful, hands-on activities, storytelling, and plenty of time to create.
WHO WILL BE TEACHING THIS CLASS?
Brush + Bramble is taught by Ms. Laura, an experienced and nurturing instructor who loves guiding young artists to discover their creativity in a warm, welcoming environment.
DO WE NEED TO BRING ANY MATERIALS?
Nope! All materials are provided. Your child just needs to come ready to create and have fun.
WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD WEAR?
We recommend play clothes that can get a little messy. We’ll be using kid-friendly art materials, but creativity can sometimes be colorful!
HOW MANY CHILDREN ARE IN THIS CLASS?
Each session is capped at 8 students to ensure lots of personal attention and a cozy, small-group atmosphere.
CAN MY CHILD SIGN UP FOR JUST ONE MONTH?
Yes! Classes are offered in monthly, 4-week sessions, so you can sign up for just one or as many as you like.
WHAT IF WE MISS A CLASS?
Unfortunately, we can’t offer make-up sessions, but we’re happy to share ideas for continuing the project at home if you’d like.
