Bird Studies

"An observant child should be put in the way of things worth observing." - Charlotte Mason

Children are drawn to the natural world 'naturally,' but must often be instructed on how to observe carefully and appreciate the wonders around them.  This love of observation in children and my passion to offer positive moments in nature led us to our "Bird of the Month" program- a place where we can study birds together.
You will find that I have created many different bird materials over the years, ranging from owl identification cards to wooden birds, and bird skeletal systems to beak adaptation games.  These materials can be used in so many different ways- in the home, classroom, or outdoors!  We invite you to join Tanglewood Hollow in our bird studies!
Our Current Bird Study: Wild Turkey
Coming Up Soon... Pine Warbler!
